    What is Communications (Dispatch)?

    Communications refers to a 9-1-1 dispatcher/operator, who receives Emergency and Non-emergency calls, advise callers and dispatch emergency units to specific locations as necessary. A 9-1-1 dispatcher is responsible for being familiar with Police codes, efficiently operating a Police radio dispatch system, and remaining calm during stressful situations.

    Our mission as San Andreas Communications Department, is committed to providing effective emergency communication services in the interest of public safety and public service.

    Our primary purpose is to supply emergency communications and related services to:

    ~ Emergency service organizations

    ~ Municipalities

    ~ Regional districts

    ~ Provincial government

    ~ Federal government

    ~ Government agencies

     

    1.3 Priority

     

    The main responsibilities of San Andreas Communications Department are:

    ~ Maintaining the tri-service emergency radio system for Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services (E.M.S.) 

    ~ Operating and maintaining two post-disaster facilities that house 9-1-1 call taking and Police and Fire dispatch operations.
