Department Overview:

San Andreas Metro Fire Rescue, a component of the San Andreas Metro Sheriff's Department (SAMSD), is an Emergency Service Agency that specializes in responding to Calls for Service to provide Fire Suppression and Medical Rescue Services to the residents of San Andreas. San Andreas Metro Fire Rescue works closely with Law Enforcement Agencies to complete these tasks with the most efficiency and skill. The Men and Women of the department are highly trained and specialized in Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention, Vehicle Extrication, Public Trust and Relations, Medical Expertise. These Men And Women can increase their skills and training by joining any of the Sub-Divisions within the fire department. Each Sub-Division specializes in a different field with something for everyone.

Subdivisions:

Fire Marshal

Fire Marshal's Office (FMO) is a Sub-Division within San Andreas Metro Fire Rescue. These members are Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) within the Fire Department. The FMO's investigate situations involving a member of SAMFR, Arson, Fire Related Incidents, Building Inspections, or any Incident where the situation deals with the Fire Department. These members are equipped with the standard gear of a Law Enforcement Officer, including a Taser, service weapon, handcuffs, baton, flashlight. Then the gear of a firefighter, including turnout gear, Airpak, high visibility vest, and more. These members have full LEO authority of arrest upon completion of the Basic Law Enforcement Training. 

HAZMAT

Hazardous Materials [HAZMAT] is a Sub-Division within San Andreas Metro Fire Rescue. The individuals are trained and prepared to deal with harmful and dangerous chemicals. Whether it is a nuclear material, radioactive substance, or as common of a substance as gasoline these individuals are equipped with the highest quality of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as Hazmat Suits Class A, B, and C. Radiation Suits - Tyvek Suits, and things such as decontamination tents and equipment. These units work closely with the individuals at the Humane Labs Research Facility to coordinate services.

Rapid Response

Rapid Response Unit [RRU] is a Sub-Division within San Andreas Metro Fire Rescue that specialize in the Medical Rescue Services. They are trained and prepared to respond to all Medical Incidents with speed and precision. These members can respond to incidents much quicker and provide the units enroute with a detailed description of the incident, and the best course of action to take.

Technical Rescue Unit

Technical Rescue Unit [TRU] is a Sub-Division within San Andreas Metro Fire Rescue that specializes in Advanced Rescue Operations. These rescue operations can include Dive Rescue, Water Rescue, Cliffside Rescue, High Angle Rope Rescue, Low Angle Rope Rescue, Search and Rescue, AirMed (Air Evacuation), as well as Natural Disaster Incidents. The unit is equipped with the equipment they need to complete their operations to include Harnesses, Rope, Night Vision Helicopter Helmets, Thermal Cameras, and more. These members will be the first to respond to any situations within this specialty.
